DashNote, a dashboard widget by Resen

Resen, Corp. has officially released DashNote, a Simplenote dashboard widget for OS X. DashNote’s interface is clean and simple, just the way we like it. Similar to other Simplenote Extras, DashNote lets you view and edit your notes while staying in perpetual sync with your iPhone or iPod touch, as well our web app.

On an unrelated note, happy holidays everyone! A healthy maintenance update for Simplenote is currently being tested. We’ll start sharing some details soon.

  1. It looks neat and beautiful… smooth flow.Only lacking thing to make it awesome is the search field on top. So far you can only scroll up or down.

  2. I installed this Widget as soon as I found out about it. I can safely say without lying that it is the sexiest looking widget that I hav on my system at the moment.Simplenote has consistently surprised me, in how such a useful and simple application (do one thing and do it well) manages to in some way get so many people excited about the app and the service, that they go off and create wonderful applications like this. I include JustNotes in that category as well.Kudos.Malcolm

  3. Could I please still see my DashNotes when offline? I love the iPhone app and DashNote, and I love how they sync. However, it is very annoying and pitiful that I cannot see my widget’s notes when the Mac is offline! Thanks

  4. Just to follow up, I see no reason why my notes have to be taken away when offline. Obviously I understand they can’t sync when offline, but why the hell can I not even see my notes when I have my computer offline??? This lack of basic functionality undermines most of the good features of this SimpleNote Dashnote combo.

  5. This is a very nice widget that works almost perfectly for what I need. It is an invaluable tool for anybody who used Simplenote. I do, however, have two complaints. First, as Jeff mentioned, notes are not available when offline, which is very annoying when one uses a laptop which may not always have access to the internet. Secondly, the widget seems to be a bit jumpy on my system. when scrolling, etc. it goes at inconsistent speeds (slowing for a fraction of a second). It is still a great widget despite these two annoyances.
